John Barkley Dawson (November 10, 1830 – December 27, 1918) was a Texas Ranger and an US Rancher who helped blaze a cattle trail westward.
He is also the namesake of the town of Dawson, New Mexico, which is located on the land which he bought in 1869 and sold in 1901.
He is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica, California.
