"Marty" Actor Ernest Borgnine 2012 Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills BENCH

Ernest Borgnine (born Ermes Effron Borgnino; January 24, 1917 – July 8, 2012) was an American actor whose career spanned over six decades. He was noted for his gruff but calm voice, Machiavellian eyebrows, and gap-toothed Cheshire Cat grin. A popular performer, he had also appeared as a guest on numerous talk shows and as a panelist on several game shows.

He was known as the voice of Mermaid Man on Sponge Bob Square Pants from 1999 until his death in 2012. He had earlier replaced the late Vic Tayback as the voice of the villainous Carface in both All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (1996) and All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series (1996–1998).

Borgnine died of kidney failure on July 8, 2012 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, with his family at his side. He was 95 years old.

According to Find A Grave, Ernest Borgnine was cremated and his ashes were given to his family. However, Los Angeles Morgue Files found a BENCH dedicated to him in the Lincoln Terrace area of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetery
